Lizz Wright

Just discovered this amazing singer thanks to an episode of Bones (sometimes I'm more thankful for the music than the actual entertainment value of the drama it's featured in).

Soulful voice, haunting lyrics- there's also something easing about her voice and music. Like a powerful but gentle breeze. Yeah, I love oxymorons :-)

When I fall

I want to be wild and bold enough to run with you , my baby
I want to skip time lay the hours aside and stay with you , my baby

But oh if I look down now , will I fall
And what if the water's cold , when I fall

I want to be still and quietly say , I'll lay with you my baby
I wish I were brave and sure today to pray that it's you my baby

But oh if I look down now , tell me will I fall
And what if the water's cold , when I fall

Oh oh if I look down now , tell me will I fall
And what if the water's cold , when I fall

Oh oh if I look down now , tell me will I fall
And what if the water's cold , cold when I fall

When I fall , when I fall

Rainy day, lazy afternoon music

Caught up on my dose of Natalie Merchant today. It simply reaffirmed my belief that the 90s was one of the best decades in music.

She reminds me of Sarah Mclachlan...but that's another post altogether!
